How It Works

A process you can see from the first inquiry onward.

  1. 1

    Qualification

Submit the short guided inquiry. Jean reviews the types of income involved and whether the work fits her scope.

  2. 2

    Engagement

Scope, timing, and fees are confirmed in writing before any documents are exchanged.

  3. 3

    Secure document collection

You receive a checklist tailored to your situation and instructions for secure upload. Documents are never requested by regular email.

  4. 4

    Preparation

Jean prepares the return and sends organized follow-up requests for anything missing or unclear.

  5. 5

    Review

You review the return with a plain explanation of what changed from last year and why.

  6. 6

    Filing

Once you approve, the return is filed and you receive confirmation.

  7. 7

    Payment

Payment is handled according to the engagement terms.

  8. 8

    Follow-up

Estimated payments, notices, or planning topics for next year are noted so nothing is left open.

What to prepare

A general starting list. Your tailored checklist arrives after fit is confirmed—please don’t send documents before then.

  • Prior-year return
  • Wage and income statements
  • Brokerage and investment tax documents
  • Self-employment income and expense records
  • Rental income, expenses, and property details
  • Pass-through statements (K-1s), if any
  • Estimated payments made during the year
  • Any tax notices received

Bring Jean the whole tax picture—not just the last form that arrived.

Whether the return includes investment activity, independent work, rental income, or several of these at once, begin with a short review of what is involved.
